Gluten Free Apple Walnut Thanksgiving Stuffing for Lunch

Hardening your bread is the first stage for a great stuffing. I personally use my homemade gluten free bread which I cut into one inch small chunks and then spread this bread on parchment paper overnight. You can toast your bread in the oven at 350 degrees until the bread becomes dry and brown if you don’t have time to make harder your bread overnight.

This is a healthy gluten free delight and can be prepared through eight steps, can be placed in 9 x 11 casserole dish day before. Try this healthy and tasty gluten free apple walnut thanksgiving stuffing for your and your family’s lunch.

Instructions
  1. Chop a loaf of gluten free bread into 1-inch cubes and set out to harden overnight.
  2. Oil a large frying pan with olive oil and sauté onions and celery for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Stir in chopped apples and apple cider. Cook an additional 5 minutes
  5. In a separate pan roast chopped walnuts on medium heat until the walnuts begin to brown, about 5 minutes.
  6. Add walnuts and sage to the apple mixture.
  7. Pre - heat oven to 350 degrees.
  8. In a large mixing bowl add diced hardened bread and apple mixture. Pour in chicken broth, sage, basil, oregano, thyme, pepper, and salt and stir until bread is very moist.
  9. Add more salt to taste.
  10. Oil a large deep dish pan around 9x11 and pour in the stuffing.
  11. Bake for about 30 minutes or until the stuffing is crispy on top and warm throughout.
